University Hospitals, Hippocratic AI team up for patient engagement

University Hospitals has entered into a collaboration with Hippocratic AI to integrate the company’s safety-focused generative AI agents into its clinical workflows and patient engagement programs. Early pilots in pharmacy support showed promising results, leading to plans for expansion into preventative screening calls, education, and appointment support. Hippocratic AI’s conversational, voice-based agents are designed to serve as empathetic, effective extensions of the care team, providing personalized, real-time assistance to patients outside of traditional appointments. Munjal Shah, Hippocratic AI’s CEO and cofounder, emphasized that the agents aim to keep patients informed, adherent, and connected while reinforcing the hospital’s mission of reaching patients between visits.

This partnership builds on a series of milestones for Hippocratic AI, which has been rapidly expanding its platform and footprint. The company’s Polaris Constellation architecture supports a broad range of healthcare workflows, and recent moves include a collaboration with KPMG on workforce shortages, HITRUST certification for security, and the launch of a Japanese-language healthcare agent through a partnership with EUCALIA. Hippocratic AI also closed a $141 million Series B earlier this year, bringing its valuation to $1.64 billion and enabling the launch of a Healthcare AI Agent App Store for clinician-driven co-development. Under Munjal Shah’s leadership, the company continues to pursue its vision of safe, scalable, and globally accessible AI agents to improve both patient outcomes and clinician efficiency.
