University Hospitals (UH) has partnered with Hippocratic AI to deploy conversational agents that improve patient engagement and streamline non-diagnostic support across its health system. The collaboration builds on UH’s innovation-focused approach, integrating Hippocratic AI’s safe, voice-based generative AI to strengthen pharmacy support, preventive screenings, patient education, and appointment assistance. Early results from pharmacy-related use cases have been positive, encouraging wider adoption. Hippocratic AI’s CEO and co-founder Munjal Shah emphasized the agents’ role as empathetic, scalable extensions of the care team, designed to provide patients with personalized, real-time support that bridges gaps between visits.
The partnership reflects UH’s commitment to responsibly incorporating AI into care delivery while preserving safety and compassion. Hippocratic AI’s Polaris Constellation safety architecture, combined with rigorous testing by clinicians and health system partners, ensures reliability and patient-centered interactions. UH leaders highlighted the alignment of values between the two organizations, stressing that the technology allows clinicians to practice at the top of their license by offloading routine communications. This initiative complements UH’s broader innovation portfolio, which includes Hospital@Home and a new remote patient monitoring program for hypertension, underscoring UH’s mission to improve lives through healing, discovery, and teaching.
