DVH introducing AI post-discharge follow-ups

Desert View Hospital has begun using an AI phone assistant named Daisy, developed by Hippocratic AI, to help conduct routine post-discharge follow-up calls. The hospital explains that Daisy is designed to review recovery instructions, check for new or worsening symptoms, and connect patients to a nurse immediately if any concerns arise. Hippocratic AI’s technology has already been adopted by major health systems—including Cleveland Clinic, Moffitt Cancer Center, and Northwestern Medicine—which the hospital highlights as evidence of its reliability and growing role in healthcare.

Although nurses remain fully available for anyone who prefers a human interaction, the hospital notes that this AI-supported workflow allows clinical staff to focus more time on patients who need personal attention. Desert View also emphasizes that the calls will clearly identify themselves as coming from the hospital and that Daisy will only request a date of birth for verification. Overall, the integration of Hippocratic AI’s system is presented as an added layer of support rather than a replacement for nursing care.
