The American Nurses Foundation has announced a new funding initiative that will award three $10,000 grants to support nurse-led research on artificial intelligence and innovation in nursing. The program is specifically aimed at early-career nurses seeking to explore AI-driven solutions to key challenges in clinical care and operations. Applications are open to nurses at all career stages, but preference will be given to bedside nurses with three to five years of experience and institutional backing from healthcare leadership to ensure real-world implementation.
The initiative is being launched in partnership with Hippocratic AI, the healthcare technology company founded by Munjal Shah, which focuses on developing safety-tested generative AI agents for clinical use. Through this collaboration, the foundation and Hippocratic AI aim to empower nurses to shape how AI is applied in patient care, emphasizing innovation that enhances efficiency, safety, and quality within the profession. Proposals are due by February 17 via the foundation’s submission portal.
