Sword Health and Nvidia to Revolutionize UK Healthcare with AI

The PATH (Proactive & Accessible Transformation of Healthcare) initiative, led by Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, marks a major leap forward in reshaping the UK’s healthcare system through advanced AI and digital technologies. Sword Health, a Portuguese health tech unicorn, has joined forces with Nvidia, General Catalyst, and others to address critical challenges like accessibility, care delays, and clinician workload. PATH’s vision is centered on shifting from reactive hospital-based care to proactive, community-driven, and fully digital patient journeys. Sword Health will contribute its AI-based care platform—already used by over 500,000 patients globally—to help reduce waiting lists, manage pain, and empower patients throughout their recovery, ultimately easing pressure on the NHS and enhancing efficiency.

Hippocratic AI is also a key collaborator in this initiative, contributing to the deployment of generative AI agents that have already facilitated more than 2.4 million patient interactions. These agents are engineered for safety, responsiveness, and clinical reliability, serving as a new digital layer of patient engagement that complements traditional care. Hippocratic AI’s involvement reinforces its commitment to transforming healthcare through empathetic, scalable AI tools—particularly in non-diagnostic support areas. As PATH evolves, it stands as a potential blueprint for healthcare modernization worldwide, merging human expertise with AI to deliver smarter, more equitable, and accessible care systems for the future.
