Hippocratic AI Selected to Collaborate in CMS Health Tech Ecosystem and Digital Transformation Initiative

Hippocratic AI has been selected to join the U.S. Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ (CMS) Health Tech Ecosystem, a central part of CMS’s digital transformation initiative. The collaboration brings together technology leaders and healthcare organizations to advance secure, scalable AI adoption in healthcare, with commitments formalized in Washington, D.C., and followed by a White House reception attended by Hippocratic AI Co-Founder and CEO Munjal Shah. The company’s role focuses on CMS’s “Conversational AI Assistants” pledge, reflecting its expertise in generative AI healthcare agents—technology already used in more than 3.35 million patient calls with high satisfaction ratings. This initiative builds on the recently announced AI Action Plan, emphasizing the national priority of safe and impactful AI in healthcare.

As part of its pledge, Hippocratic AI commits to developing AI assistants that securely connect to CMS-aligned networks or personal health record apps, access relevant patient data with consent, and deliver personalized, helpful support while clearly distinguishing educational content from clinical guidance. The company’s vision, as articulated by Munjal Shah, aligns closely with CMS’s goal of transforming healthcare through collaboration and innovation. Founded by Shah and a team of healthcare and AI experts, Hippocratic AI has developed a safety-focused large language model backed by $278 million in funding from top-tier investors and health systems, aiming to improve healthcare accessibility and outcomes globally.
